
$135,000 for Noosa Training Institute

Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss today announced Australian Government funding of $135,880 to a Noosa based company under the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business (BESB) program.Mr Truss said Noosa Institute for Socio-Economic Research Limited has been granted the funds to assist the company in providing effective small business training.
“The funds from BESB will help the Institute to deliver skills development in succession planning through training and workshops and one on one mentoring sessions,” Mr Truss said.
"I congratulate the Noosa Institute for Socio-Economic Research Limited for securing this funding. It is a commendable initiative and has the potential to bring considerable benefits to our local community," Mr Truss said.
The funding is one of 44 projects around the country which received more than $10 million in total from the program.
"This initiative is part of the Australian Government's strong support for small business, which has seen the number of employing small businesses grow by 31 per cent over the past three years," he said.
"The third round of funding focussed on projects to encourage environmental best practice, improved financial management and succession planning. The program reiterates the message that practical support is available to equip small business improve financial skills and become more aware of the environmental aspects of good business practice," Mr Truss said.
