
More Home and Community Care Funding for Sunshine Coast

Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss, today welcomed the announcement of a funding boost for Home and Community Care (HACC) Program providers on the Sunshine Coast."HACC services enable frail aged people and young people with disabilities to remain in their own homes with the support of their family," Mr Truss said.
"We know the majority of people prefer to continue living in their own homes, and HACC services can provide people with that option and give them a higher level of independence.”
HACC providers on the Sunshine Coast have been allocated $329,629 in extra funding, including:
• Blue Care Noosa $47,500 to construct a car park; $15,000 for office furniture; $3,500 for a therapy bed; $1,600 for wheelchair carriers; $17,000 for a bladder scanner; $3,000 for an autoclave; $3,800 for allied health equipment; $9,000 for six adjustable wheelchairs; and $7,000 for a multipurpose clinic chair; and
• Noosa Day Respite $15,000 for fixtures and fittings; $28,130 for floor coverings, smoke alarms and kitchen equipment; $15,000 for furnishings; $3,230 for office equipment; $88,869 for an additional bus; $72,000 for a replacement bus.
“This funding will assist Blue Care Noosa and Noosa Day Respite in the delivery of services which maintain and improve the quality of life for older and disabled Australians.”
