Student Information Kit available

Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss has released a student information kit that explains the operation of the Australian Parliament and law making process.“The Student Information Kit — Federal Parliament provides a comprehensive guide to the role of the Australian Parliament and contains information regarding Australia’s Constitution, how Government is formed and the role of our Head of State,” Mr Truss said.
The kit was prepared with the assistance of the Parliamentary Education Office and will be useful for students who are interested in or studying Australian law, politics or civics.
“The kit is an educational resource that covers the functions of the Parliament and legislative processes,” Mr Truss said.
“The guide explains the different levels of Government we have in Australia and contains information regarding elections, the role of the Government, Opposition, minor parties and independents and also covers the responsibilities of Parliamentary Officers.
“While the kit is designed for use by school students, the information contained in it is also useful for anyone who is interested in learning about the Australian democratic process,” Mr Truss said.
