Home and Community Care Funding for Sunshine Coast

12th October, 2009
Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss, today welcomed the announcement of a funding boost for Home and Community Care (HACC) Program providers on the Sunshine Coast.

"HACC services enable frail aged people and young people with disabilities to remain in their own homes with the support of their family," Mr Truss said.

"We know the majority of people prefer to continue living in their own homes, and HACC services can provide people with that option and give them a higher level of independence.”

HACC providers on the Sunshine Coast have been allocated $277,472 in extra funding, including:

Organisation Proposed Increase Total Limit
Blue Care Noosa $93,990 $1,734,589
Sunshine Coast Regional Council $183,482 $1,520,592

“This funding will assist these organisations in the delivery of services which maintain and improve the quality of life for older and disabled Australians.”
