More Home and Community Care Funding for Sunshine Coast
7th May, 2010
Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss, today welcomed the announcement of a funding boost for the Sunshine Coast Regional Council’s Noosa Day Respite Centre under the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program.“HACC services enable frail aged people and young people with disabilities to remain in their own homes with the support of their family," Mr Truss said.
“The majority of elderly people prefer to continue living in the comfort and security of their own homes for as long as possible, and HACC services can provide people with that option, giving them a higher level of independence.”
Noosa Day Respite Centre has been provided with an additional $2,200, bringing their HACC funding to $1,339,310. The additional funding will assist in minor home modifications for two clients.
“This funding will assist the Noosa Day Respite Centre to deliver services which maintain and improve the quality of life for older and disabled people on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Truss said.
