$60,500 to help families recover from flooding

21st April, 2011
Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss, has advised of $60,512.37 in Australian Government funding to assist community organisations to help people affected by the recent floods.

“This funding will enable community service organisations to assist families and individuals who suffered losses in the flood. It will be used to provide people with food, clothing, household items and assistance with bills,” Mr Truss said.

“The recovery from the floods is ongoing and while work to rebuild roads, property and community infrastructure is progressing, there are people in the community who still need some support after losing their homes and personal effects in the flood.

“This funding will help the community workers and volunteers in those organisations to assist people in need.”
