
Cherbourg Shire Council to receive $343,100

Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss today advised of a $343,100 Australian Government grant to the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council, under the Community Development Employment Projects (CDEP) program.“The funding will be used to continue the employment of a community development officer, a mentor and an employment and training officer. The funding will also support staff training and development and be used to lease a bus,” Mr Truss said.
“The CDEP program is designed to improve people’s skills and abilities to help them secure employment.
“I congratulate the Cherbourg Shire Council on the success of their application and wish the participants in the project well in their future endeavours.”
