
Veteran & Community Grant for Tewantin and Noosa War Widows Guild

Federal Member for Wide Bay, Warren Truss, has advised of $2,810 in Federal Government funding to the War Widows Guild of Australia Queensland Incorporated Tewantin and Noosa Sub-branch, under the Veteran and Community Grants program.“The Tewantin and Noosa War Widows Guild will receive $2,810 to fund a series of bus trips which will help to increase social participation opportunities for their members,” Mr Truss said.
The Veteran & Community Grants program aims to maintain and improve the independence and quality of life of members of the veteran community by providing financial assistance for activities, services and projects that sustain or enhance the well being of veterans.
“Australia’s veterans have served their country with pride and distinction, securing peace and freedom for our nation,” Mr Truss said.
“Many veterans and their families continue to help others and strengthen their communities. This grant is one way by which we show our respect for their service to our country and support their ongoing contributions within the community.
“The members of the Tewantin and Noosa War Sub-branch of the War Widows Guild are to be congratulated on the success of their application,” Mr Truss said.
