BEST Grants for Wide Bay Veterans

26th July, 2013
The local veteran community will have continuing access to help and resources after Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss released the details of the latest Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) grants.

Mr Truss said $44,259 in BEST grants will be made available to four organisations in the region.

“The grants will support ex-service organisations to fund staff and other resources they need to provide quality services and advice to the veteran community,” Mr Truss said.

“Ex-service organisations facilitate much needed assistance to veterans, war widows and widowers, current and former Defence members and their dependants when lodging claims with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs or pursuing an appeal,” Mr Truss said.

“I congratulate the organisations on their successful applications.”
