Australian Student Prize recipients

Federal Member for Wide Bay and Deputy Prime Minister, Warren Truss, today congratulated Harmony Douwes and Samuel Waltisbuhl, who each received an Australian Student Prize for their studies in 2012.Harmony Douwes graduated from Gympie State High School and Samuel Waltisbuhl graduated from Cooloola Christian College.
“The Australian Student Prize recognizes excellence in academic achievement,” Mr Truss said.
“The Prize was awarded to only 500 secondary students nationally. State and Territory education authorities selected the successful students based on their secondary school achievements in 2012.”
Each Australian Student Prize winner receives $2,000 and a certificate to commemorate their success.
“I congratulate the winners on their special achievement and I wish them well for the future.”
