Truss welcomes $10,000 boost for Cherbourg recycling facility
14th November, 2014
Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss has today welcomed the announcement of $10,000 in funding by the Keep Australia Beautiful Association, for the upgrading of Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council’s recycling facility. “I congratulate Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council on winning this grant for their recycling facility, which will fund an improved waste crushing system for the facility and allow large volumes of recycled materials to be more easily transported for further processing,” Mr Truss said.
“I also wish to acknowledge the contribution of Coca Cola Australia, which has made this funding available through the Beverage Container Recycling Grants, administered by the Keep Australia Beautiful Association.
The funding grant comes only weeks after Mr Truss was given a personal tour of the recycling facility, alongside the Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion.
“It is my hope that this funding will help increase the viability of the recycling facility, which makes a valuable economic contribution to the Cherbourg community,” Mr Truss said.
