Bruce Highway night works at Cooroy may cause delays
3rd July, 2015
Federal Member for Wide Bay and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Warren Truss, has advised that night works will begin again on the Bruce Highway near Cooroy, from Sunday 5 July.
“Construction will be carried out on the Bruce Highway between the Bagnalls Road overpass and Elm Street, Cooroy for approximately five nights, between 8pm and 5am,” Mr Truss said.
“Local residents may notice some noise and lighting during the works, however construction staff will endeavour to minimise any disruption by finishing the work as quickly as possible.
“Reduced speeds, traffic control and signage may be used during construction, to ensure the safety of motorists and road workers.
“While efforts are made to minimize the impact of the roadworks, motorists may need to consider adding some extra time to their journey in the event that the construction causes delays.
“I thank motorists for their patience and cooperation during the construction period,” Mr Truss said.
The works are joint-funded by the Federal and State Governments, as part of the Cooroy-to-Curra four-lane upgrade of the Bruce Highway.
