20th August, 2015
The Federal Coalition Government will provide funding for an extra 3,120 residential aged care places and 880 home care places across Queensland in 2015.
Federal Member for Wide Bay and Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss announced today that applications for the 2015 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) are now open and he encouraged aged care providers across Wide Bay encouraged to apply.
“In recognition of community need for home care places for people with more complex care needs, the Australian Government is releasing 1,729 more Level 3 and Level 4 home care places in 2015 - an increase of 45 per cent from 2014.
“Up to $67 million in capital grants will also be offered as part of the 2015 ACAR, under the Rural, Regional and Other Special Needs Building Fund.
“Under the 2014 ACAR, the Federal Government delivered $5,428,000 for 92 new residential aged care places in Wide Bay. A further $560,000 was provided to fund eight home care places for people with basic care needs, eight places for people with low level care needs and 12 places for people requiring an intermediate level of care,” Mr Truss said.
“The 2015 ACAR will provide funding to ensure that aged care organisations in Wide Bay can continue to provide a variety of aged care services, so that older residents may have access to the level of care that best meets their needs.”
