$400,000 for new facilities at Riverside Christian College
11th November, 2015
Riverside Christian College in Maryborough will receive $400,000 to build extra classrooms and facilities for students under the Coalition Government’s Capital Grants program, Federal Member for Wide Bay and Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss announced today. “A grant of $400,000 will help fund three new classrooms, a staffroom, outdoor learning area, undercroft, plant room, covered walkways, equipment and site works at the school,” Mr Truss said.
The Australian Government’s Capital Grants Programme funds facilities to support the learning of educationally disadvantaged students, as well as infrastructure for non-government schools that find it difficult to finance themselves.
“While buildings alone do not make a school, the Government recognises that better facilities for students are a critical part of equipping students with the skills necessary to secure their success in later life,” Mr Truss said.
“I welcome this grant to help Riverside Christian College meet the needs of its students, both now and into the future.”
