$150,000 for new facilities at Gympie’s Victory College
11th November, 2015
Victory College in Gympie will receive $150,000 to build extra classrooms and facilities for students under the Coalition Government’s Capital Grants program, Federal Member for Wide Bay and Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss announced today. “A grant of $150,000 will help fund the construction of two new classrooms, two withdrawal areas, two outdoor learning areas, an outdoor covered lunch area, a verandah and equipment and site works at the college,” Mr Truss said.
The Australian Government’s Capital Grants Programme funds facilities to support the learning of educationally disadvantaged students, as well as infrastructure for non-government schools that find it difficult to finance themselves.
“While buildings alone do not make a school, the Government recognises that better facilities for students are a critical part of equipping students with the skills necessary to secure their success in later life,” Mr Truss said.
“I welcome this grant to help Victory College meet the needs of its students, both now and into the future.”
