
Federal grant helps upgrade Maryborough Child Care Centre

Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss today announced that Maryborough Child Care Centre will receive $5,954 under the first round of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme (SCP).
“This funding will be used to upgrade the staff kitchen, staff meeting room and children’s bathroom at the child care centre,” Mr Truss said.
“These improved facilities will allow the centre to better meet local child care needs of the, both now and into the future.”
The SCP is a Federal Government initiative designed to increase the resilience of communities, especially those in disadvantaged rural and regional areas, by providing grants for small capital projects.
Local councils and incorporated not for profit organisations can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $20,000, with up to $150,000 available for each Federal electorate per year. Applications for the second round of SCP are now open.
