29th February, 2016
Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss, today announced that an Australian Government grant of $1,875 has been provided to Cootharaba construction company Foster Building Group Pty Ltd, for an employee to complete a Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing. “This opportunity has been made possible through the Federal Government’s Industry Skills Fund. The Fund enables Australian businesses to access training places and support services so they and their employees are better placed to succeed in a rapidly changing economy,” Mr Truss said.
“The Australian Government recognises that having a skilled, well-trained workforce is crucial for businesses to grow and develop. The Industry Skills Fund is designed to develop the skilled workforces needed to maintain and improve Australia’s economic position in the face of increasing global competition.”
Mr Truss said the Fund assists small and medium enterprises, including micro businesses, and has been designed to make delivery and access simple and streamlined, reducing red tape and improving value for taxpayers’ money.
“Local businesses are encouraged to apply for funding from the program under a number of categories, including Training Grants for businesses that have identified an opportunity for growth and Skills Advice to maximise training outcomes”.
