“Cooinda Aged Care in Gympie will receive funding to provide an extra 32 residential care places including 14 places for veterans, those in rural and remote areas and older Australians experiencing financial and social disadvantage,” Mr Truss said.
“A further $452 200 is being provided to KinCare, based in Noosaville, to support people with dementia, with four low level home care places, five intermediate home care places and five high care places being made available.
“These home services are important, as they enable older Australians to receive care while remaining in the comfort, security and familiar surrounds of their own home for as long as possible.
“This extra funding will help these aged care organisations in Wide Bay to continue to provide a variety of aged care services, so that older residents may have access to the level of care that best meets their needs,” Mr Truss said.
“The Federal Coalition Government is committed to working with the aged care sector to help provide the support and care that older Australians require for an active, happy and healthy lifestyle.”
The ACAR is the process that allocates funding for new Government residential aged care and home care places and for capital grants each year.
