
Cooroy-Pomona RSL receives Federal grant for local Anzac project

The Cooroy-Pomona RSL sub-branch will receive $2,546 under the latest round of the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service programme, Federal Member for Wide Bay and Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss announced today.“The grant will be used to provide Community Link Cards and Veterans’ Memorial Plaques to local school students, which will help them to establish a link with veterans from the area, who served in the First and Second World Wars.
“This project will help to ensure that the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country is not forgotten and that their stories are preserved for future Australians.
“I congratulate the Cooroy Pomona RSL sub-branch on their successful application for this worthy local project,” Mr Truss said.
