Page Nationals pre-select great local champion in Kevin Hogan

30th June, 2012
THE people of the electorate of Page on the NSW North Coast will have a strong positive choice at the next federal election with today’s pre-selection of Nationals candidate Kevin Hogan, says Nationals Leader Warren Truss.

“Kevin is an excellent local champion who is passionate about his community, particularly in the areas of small business, education and health,” Mr Truss said.

“As a small business operator in the finance sector, Kevin understands that despite Labor’s rhetoric, small businesses are doing it tough on the North Coast and it is only going to get tougher with the carbon tax that Page Labor MP Janelle Saffin voted for.

“As former school teacher in Casino and a father of three school age children, no one is more committed to high quality local educational outcomes.

“Mr Hogan receives first-hand reports of how regional health is failing local residents, since his wife Karen is a nurse at Lismore Base Hospital.”

Mr Truss said Page is a high priority for The Nationals.

“Kevin Hogan was unlucky not to win Page in 2010,” he said. “We are going to work hard with him from today on because Page cannot afford three more years of Labor rule.

“Kevin Hogan will make a great contribution for the people of Page.”
