1st June, 2012 The Queensland Competition Authority says the cost of generating electricity in Queensland will increase by 43% because of the carbon tax. The QCA rejected proposals to increased charges by up to 300% for large users and set a cap on increases of 20% for 2012-13. Without the cap, charges for irrigators would rise by up to 75%.
